Washer Will Not Start
- Door not closed correctly: Push the door firmly until it locks. Check that clothing is not trapped between the door and gasket.
- Child Lock enabled: Disable the Child Lock using the button combination listed in the model-specific manual.
- Delayed start selected: Check whether a delayed start time has been programmed before assuming the washer is not operating.
- No power supply: Check the wall outlet, plug, power cord, circuit breaker, and household electrical supply.
Water Supply & Filling Problems
- Washer not filling: Make sure water taps are open and inlet hoses are not bent, crushed, or blocked.
- Low water pressure: Check household water pressure and inspect the inlet hose for restrictions.
- Blocked inlet filters: Turn off the water supply and clean the mesh filters at the hose connection points.
- Water leak: Check inlet hose washers, hose fittings, detergent drawer, drain hose position, and the door gasket.
Drainage & Spin Problems
- Washer will not drain: Clean the drain pump filter and make sure the drain hose is not kinked, blocked, or installed too high.
- Washer will not spin: Redistribute the laundry load. Large towels, bath mats, blankets, or one heavy item can cause imbalance.
- Water remains in drum: Check the pump filter, drain hose, and household drain connection for obstruction.
- Excessive vibration: Confirm the transit bolts were removed, the washer is level, and all four feet contact the floor firmly.
Common ASKO Error Code Symptoms
- Water inlet error: Usually caused by closed water taps, low water pressure, blocked inlet filters, or restricted inlet hoses.
- Drain pump error: Usually caused by a blocked drain filter, blocked hose, foreign object in the pump, or restricted household drain.
- Door lock error: Check the door closure, latch area, wiring, and whether water has drained completely from the machine.
- Motor or spin error: May be caused by an overloaded drum, unbalanced laundry, worn motor parts, belt issues, or control module faults.
- Heating error: May indicate a heater, temperature sensor, wiring, or electronic control issue.
Detergent Drawer, Odor & Cleaning Problems
- Detergent remains in drawer: Remove and clean the detergent drawer, then check for blocked water jets above the drawer compartment.
- Washer smells bad: Run a hot maintenance wash and leave the door and detergent drawer slightly open after each wash.
- Too much foam: Use the recommended amount of low-suds detergent suitable for front-load washing machines.
- Fabric softener remains in compartment: Remove hardened detergent or residue and clean the softener compartment thoroughly.
Dryer & Washer Dryer Problems
- Clothes still damp: Avoid overloading, select the correct drying program, and separate heavy fabrics from lightweight items.
- Drying takes too long: Clean lint filters where applicable, reduce load size, and confirm that the appliance has proper ventilation.
- Drying program stops early: Check load size, program selection, moisture sensor condition, and whether the selected cycle includes drying.
- Wrinkled laundry: Remove garments promptly after the program ends and avoid tightly packing the drum.
Installation & Maintenance Tips
- Remove transit bolts: Always remove shipping bolts before operating a new ASKO washing machine.
- Level the appliance: Adjust all feet so the washer does not rock or move during high-speed spin cycles.
- Clean the pump filter: Check the drain pump filter regularly to remove lint, coins, hairpins, and other debris.
- Inspect water hoses: Check inlet and drain hoses regularly for leaks, cracking, loose fittings, or pinching.
Safety note: Always unplug the appliance and turn off the water supply before cleaning filters, checking hoses, or servicing internal components. Do not bypass the door lock or operate the washer with damaged wiring.
